A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam, but this problem can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you have a cloud hosting with us and you want to activate the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it’ll take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can select one email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature right away, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
